Cheers & Jeers!!!
Its been a LOONNNGGG time since I've done my Cheers & Jeers, and I'm totally overflowing with criticisms AND compliments all at once. Its confusing to say the least, so with that in mind, I'll get on with it.
First the Jeers! Jeers to Vancouver Translink! that's right! I said it! Translink sucks balls! Time and time again it has completely let me down in some form or another. First, was the day they couldn't get their shit together, and no trains were making it past the 22nd Street station, but for some reason, none of the Transit people seemed to know that. End result: me getting downtown for an interview more than 45 minutes late. Completely unacceptable. Then, the stupid airport bus is full ALL the time, and not one, or two, but THREE freaking buses passed me by the other day while I was trying to get home because they were all too full. Then tonight, I'm trying to get home on that very same bus. That bus is supposed to come at 7:37pm. 7:37 comes and goes, then pretty soon its 7:45, then its 7:50, then its 7:55, and then 8:00. Finally at 8:01 the bus shows up, with the next bus right behind it. I swear to GOD this is the most unreliable transit system EVER. Booooooooooo Translink!!! You suck!!!!
Now with the Cheers!!! Cheers to www.Hotels.ca!! time and time again I've managed to score kick ass hotel rates! I'm sometimes tempted to try sites like Hotwire and Priceline, but quite frankly, I'm deathly afraid. They don't give you the name of the hotel until you've booked your non-refundable room, and paid in full. What if its not up to my standards?? I just can't chance that! my comfort is my number one concern! and lets not forget my personal policy of not staying in an establishment 3 stars or less. So that's why I have come to rely on sites like fabulous Hotels.ca! For instance, I just booked a kick ass hotel room at The Fairmont Empress Hotel in lovely Victoria for when I go see Nine Inch Nails next month! a 5 star property, a kick ass room with serious perks, and a fab rate of only $128!!! How can one go wrong? Not to mention the numerous cheap hotel rates I've purchased for previous stays in Las Vegas! I salute you Hotels.ca! Top drawer!
