I Think Chris Pronger Sucks...But For Unspecified Personal Reasons.

For Edmonton Oiler fans, today is the day. Today is the day that Chris Pronger returns to the City of Champions as one of Coach Bombay's Mighty Ducks. For those of you that don't recall the situation, the Oilers had a PHENOMINAL season last year, made it to GAME 7 of the Stanley Cup FINALS, and about 30 seconds after the season ended, Chris Pronger asked the Oiler management for a trade, despite just signing a multi-year contract to stay put here in Edmonton. He asked for the trade, but wouldn't say why. All the media and Joe HockeyFan on the street got from him was "I have requested a trade for unspecified personal reasons". The "Unspecified Personal Reasons" it seems were a princess wife, and the fact that he couldn't keep it in his pants.

Now, here's where I have some issues, First, everyone is saying that he was so instrumental in getting us to the playoffs last year. I have five words for you: Smyth, Horcoff, Pisani, Hemsky, Roloson. Chris Pronger was a big help to us in that he is a big guy and he helped make big plays. He was not instrumental in our success, I seem to remember hockey being about the TEAM, and when compared to the contributions of the team-mates I named above, (especially Roloson), Pronger wasn't that great. He had only a couple goals and assists during the playoff run, and wasn't much of a prescence. So, having the Oiler management and various newspaper columnists ask us fans to keep in mind the "contribution" he made to the team and to be respectful and not boo him is a bit out of line. He's an over-rated player, and his contribution to the team was also over-rated.

Second, if the rumors are true, and he did manage to knock up an A-Channel weather girl or a 17 year old (depends on who you talk to), Would the move to Anaheim from Edmonton really fix the problem of him not being able to keep it in his pants? Doesn't the L.A. area have MUCH better looking chicks to offer? If he couldn't keep it in his pants here in Edmonton, does his wife REALLY think he'll be able to manage to NOT screw anything with a skirt? I think not. So, as such for being a lame-ass, and being over-rated, and for being a cheating douche-bag, Chris Pronger not only deserves to be Booed, he deserves ALL the heckling and LOUD Booing we can manage to throw his way. But, that being said, let's keep it tasteful shall we Edmonton? No profanity, nothing TOO personal. Just some good old fashioned Jeering.
